What’s been happening:

I got married for the first time at age 61, on May 24, 2008. We went to St Marrten (the Dutch side of the island) for our honeymoon; we stayed at the Oyster Bay Resort for a week. My husband,James McDowell, is a retired Chicago Public School teacher, he taught 3 years in LA, and 35 years in Chicago. He was a primary school teacher, a 6' 2" man working with little kids. He has a home in Oak Park and I have a home in Evanston,IL. So I have been commuting for the last year to Oak Park. Most of my commute has been on the 'L'; also known as the Big Green Limo. After years of collecting antiques, I now have to do what I said I would if I needed to. I'm selling 40 year of accumulated, most cherished items, most beloved China tea cups and saucer, some collectible Black Memorabilia & furniture. Some I will dispensed with via Craig`s List, others in a garage sale, and others sold to family and friends. If there is anything left I will donate them to the Salvation Army. I'm trying to see if I really am able to rid myself of 'stuff'. Oh, I'll keep a few things, but not as many as I have. I'm still the Children's Pastor at Vineyard Christian Church, where I recruit, train & deploying volunteers to work with our growing number of children.
